We are looking for a talented Staff Accountant with experience in agriculture and e-commerce to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can effectively manage the unique accounting needs of a hybrid industry setting.
Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, handling daily accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance across both our agriculture operations and e-commerce channels. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, experience in the agriculture industry, and a solid understanding of e-commerce financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily accounting functions, including journal entries, general ledger management, and account reconciliations for both agriculture and e-commerce operations.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
Reconcile and analyze inventory accounts and cost of goods sold (COGS) related to agriculture and e-commerce.
Prepare and review sales tax reports and ensure compliance with multi-state tax regulations.
Collaborate with the e-commerce team to maintain and improve financial processes related to online sales, payment gateways, and revenue recognition.
Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Conduct regular variance analysis for revenue, expenses, and inventory to help guide strategic business decisions.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for agriculture and e-commerce divisions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting, with exposure to the agriculture industry and e-commerce preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant industry accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software (experience with [specific software, if applicable]) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Familiarity with inventory management and cost accounting for agriculture and e-commerce.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the agriculture industry preferred
Knowledge of ERP systems or e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, NetSuite)
