Your Next Career Opportunity – Director, Network & Telecom Services
The Director of Network and Voice Services will serve as a key technical leader within SBA Communications, responsible for defining and executing the enterprise strategy for network, voice, and WAN infrastructures. This senior-level role requires extensive expertise in network, voice, and telecommunication technologies and is tasked with delivering a best-in-class user experience through the establishment of robust standards and practices. With program-level and executive sponsorship responsibility, the director will act as a subject matter expert and strategic arbitrator on design, engineering, and architecture challenges—ensuring that secure, modern technologies and practices are seamlessly integrated across all system components. This role will lead all initiatives aimed at enhancing and evolving our network, voice, and WAN environment.
What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure Oversight: Lead the design, deployment, and management of all network components—including firewalls, routers, switches, web application firewalls (WAFs), and load balancers—to ensure robust, scalable, and secure connectivity.
Voice Services Management: Oversee the hosting and operational support of Zoom Phone systems, ensuring high-quality voice communication services integrated seamlessly with existing network infrastructure.
WAN Connectivity & Management: Lead the planning, configuration, and maintenance of direct IPSec or direct WAN links supporting domestic, international, and cloud locations. Ensure high availability, low latency, and secure data transmission to optimize connectivity across all sites.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Lead critical incident management and troubleshooting efforts, ensuring rapid identification and resolution of network disruptions. Conduct post-incident analyses to prevent future occurrences.
Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute long-term strategies for network, voice, and WAN improvements that align with business objectives. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous innovation.
Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of best-in-class products and services, and to support ongoing network and voice operations.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Implement monitoring tools and processes to continuously assess system performance. Optimize network configurations and resource allocation to enhance overall efficiency and user experience.
Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and lead a technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth. Ensure that team members are well-equipped to handle evolving technological challenges.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ a talented and diverse group of high-performing team members.
Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
Coach, mentor, and develop team members, including overseeing new team member onboarding and providing career development planning and growth opportunities.
Empower team members to take ownership of their job and goals. Delegate responsibilities as needed and provide routine constructive feedback on performance.

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent and;
10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and telecommunications, with hands-on expertise in designing, deploying, and supporting complex network infrastructures experience needed and any specific required experience
5 to 10 years in a leadership role overseeing technical teams, with demonstrated experience in managing enterprise-level network, voice, and WAN environments, including multi-site deployments and contact center integrations.
Design, Deployment and Support of Networking hardware including firewalls, routers, switches, WAF’s, and load balancers (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet
Design, Deployment and Support of VOIP solutions including contact centers (Ring Central, Zoom, Teams)
Proven experience in designing scalable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructures (WAN, Cloud, On-premise environments)
A strong background in cybersecurity securing network, voice, and WAN infrastructures using industry best practices and modern security protocols.
Experience designing network infrastructures in both cloud-based and on-premise environments, ensuring seamless integration and robust service delivery.
