The position will be responsible for leading the Competitive Intelligence (CI), Geographic Information Systems Group (GIS), and Revenue Defense projects for the assigned region. The position is responsible for researching and analyzing the site level internal and external data to create and implement a plan to optimize the performance of the international tower portfolio.

This position will work closely with other internal departments, including Site Leasing, Services, Sales, Real Estate, Legal, Accounting, Taxes, Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Development, solutions, technology, IT

 and New Tower Builds and will present to the executive leadership regularly or as needed.
 

What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

Be the regional leader of the Competitive Intelligence (CI), Geographic Information Systems Group (GIS), and Revenue Defense projects for the International Competitive Intelligence area, which will include the review of all relevant business intelligence information, including extracting data from multiple servers (external and internal) via SQL and Python to review (i) governmental databases, (ii) regulatory landscape databases, (iii) competitors’ databases, (iv) company databases.

The position is responsible for researching and analyzing the site level data to create and implement a plan to optimize the performance of the international tower portfolio conducting a thorough audit of all critical strategic data, transaction documents, updating data models to test exclusivity ranking,  competitor thesis, and making recommendations to senior management on how to proceed based on this analysis, while maintaining and continuously improving the quality of work; ensuring workflow is being achieved and milestones are being reached in a timely fashion.

Responsible for automating data extraction, analysis and reporting.


  • Responsible for building, managing, and improving data workflows, reports, views, and processes for all groups within the ICI department.

  • Responsible for automating data workflows, investigations and reports using a combination of Python, SQL among others.

  • Responsible for aggregating strategic initiative data; creating interdepartmental reports.

  • Responsible for Machine and Deep learning research and tool implementation for data analytics,

  • Coordinating with IT, and other departments to facilitate report development in the data warehouse.

  • Provide detailed analysis of all initiative data and coordinate with other departments for reporting configuration.

  • Responsible for auditing all reports to ensure insights distributed to management are accurate. Utilize innovation to define the tools to audit database tables (Excel/SQL, at minimum).

  • Ensure timely reporting to management.

Assess the potential impact of each Revenue Defense activity and determine the appropriate action, working collaboratively with SBA department leaders, and staff.


  • Analyze and prepare strategies for problematic sites with site-level analysis factoring in competitive, structural, legal, financial, and other considerations.

  • Research and integrate competitive data (including competitors and customers data) for the Revenue Defense project.

  • Identify and report all potential threats to current SBA assets by identifying asset data and potential risks based on exclusivity ranking to exhibit the benefit and relevance of specific site to the business.

  • Manage multidisciplinary vendors that will support the efforts of the revenue defense activities.

  • Provide analysis of existing process/phase timelines to determine optimal efficiency.

Support Director of Competitive Intelligence.


  • Assist Management in establishing project-defined processes, procedures, evaluation, design, and implementation of best practice for competitive intelligence.

  • Analyze accounting documents, operational records, income, and expenses of tower site locations.

  • Work closely with Operations leaders to assist and support in data innovation and business identification opportunities.

  • Work closely with the Site Leasing, Services, Sales, Real Estate, Legal, Accounting, Taxes, Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Development, solutions, technology, IT and New Tower Builds to integrate ICI into other departments processes.

Research and implement strategies to drive new revenue streams leveraging company assets.


  • Map/plot and analyze search rings to determine possible collocations or potential new builds.

  • Research and support new markets.

  • Analyze present and past data, transactions, and results of the Competitive Intelligence Department.

  • Responsible for tracking the performance, potential SBA asset risks and similar insights of the Competitive Intelligence Department to present to the Executive Team.

  • Review and abstract legal documents, leveraging machine learning tools, to determine the  impact on real estate associated transactions and other departmental initiatives.

  • Effective self-leadership as an individual contributor in a high-performance environment.

  • Project management best practices knowledge.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned / Ad hoc problem-solving.

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements


  • Business analytics/Data & Statistics/computer science/management information system or related field of study
    • 3+years general industry experience with a concentration in research and analysis


  • 3 + years of experience in ArcGIS, CRM, and SQL

  • 1+ year of Python experience

  • 5 + with a proven track record of developing and executing strategic projects

  • Must demonstrate deep familiarity with Python scripts and procedures

  • Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office suite software, CRM and Project management tools

  • Travel Required 30% of the time

  • Valid Government issued driver’s license
