The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is responsible for managing the facilitation of member service transactions and support services to positively impact member experience, sales and service expectations. This role will provide direction and leadership by supervising, training and assuring quality control over all activities of the Member Service Representatives. This role also oversees the daily branch operations and is accountable for profitability, internal controls, and work processed. The ABM is responsible for managing the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities
In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager supervises the entire branch
Maintain supervision and leadership of branch personnel and demonstrate strong personal effectiveness
Responsibilities include overseeing the branch staff and assisting with training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Participate in the selection / hiring process with the Branch Manager; professionally on-board, develop, coach and evaluate the assigned staff
Provide operations oversight; complete operational functions such as, approving transactions, cash control, branch security, audits, internal controls, ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Ensure business expertise and member focus by maintaining updated industry knowledge and being proactive in identifying industry trends
Ability to act as a change agent; suggest ways to support change, process improvements and coaches others through change
Knowledge of policies and procedures for all products and services available through the Credit Union, NWCM, and other business partners/vendors
Identify opportunities utilizing the fundamentals of "The Member Advantage" program a needs-based approach to selling financial solutions to our members and achieve assigned sales goals
Proactively identify opportunities to provide product/service solutions to members
Provide exceptional member experiences
Ability to lead staff meetings and lead or contribute during sales calls
Responsible for monitoring the branch cash, in coordination with the Branch Manager
Track and monitor teller, vault and TCR/TCD differences and reports concerns to Manager
Responsible for understanding and sharing with the team the branch scorecard. Assist the Branch Manager with developing plans to address areas needing improvement
Responsible for completion of the monthly branch review packet
Attend and participate in networking, community and SEG events/activities as directed by the Branch Manager
Performs Notary and Signature Guarantee duties
Other duties as assigned
Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience, Bachelor's degree is preferred
A minimum of two years' experience in a comparable financial institution or more than three years retail service and sales experience
A minimum of one year previous experience in a leadership/coaching role
Experience with client service and relationship skill building; proactive sales skills and the ability to meet service and sales goals
Ability to use sound judgement, logic and initiative while maintaining member confidentiality and demonstrating integrity
Accuracy and detail orientation
Effective oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of NWFCU, Federal and state regulations required by the National Credit Union Association
Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy and to exercise sound judgment, logic and initiative while maintaining member confidentiality Effective problem-solving skills
Effective sales techniques
Ability to work Monday-Thursday 9AM -5PM, Friday 9AM-6PM, and Saturday 9AM-1PM
