Location: Alfred, New York
Alfred State College is seeking to fill a full-time temporary Office Assistant 1 in Print and Mail Services. **This is a 10 month position that will work full-time during the academic year. This appointment would end 5/9/2025, with the potential to return for the next academic year.
The hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm., Monday - Friday. **37.5 hrs./wk. for 15 weeks per semester. The hourly rate is $16.85
Job description
This job will require the employee to pick up and deliver mail and packages weighing up to 50 pounds to over 20 mail stops throughout the campus, in all types of weather and road conditions including heat, rain, sleet, and snow. This job also requires the employee to learn to setup and operate various pieces of bindery and finishing equipment. (booklet maker, tabber, creaser, folder, binder, shrink wrapper, etc.).
Excellent customer service, strong time management, ability to multi-task and organizational skills are required.

Requirements:
In the absence of an eligible list, this appointment may be made via the NYSHELPS program. There are no minimum requirements for this position, however, knowledge of the USPS mail processes is preferred.
A Valid NYS driver's license.
The physical ability to pick up and deliver mail and packages weighing up to 50 pounds to over 20 mail stops in all types of weather and road conditions including heat, rain, sleet, and snow.
