Location: Alfred, New York
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities Services, this position will oversee all aspects of Campus Health and Safety programs including occupational health and safety, hazardous materials management, and fire prevention/protection. The incumbent will develop and implement health and safety programs for all campus users to ensure compliance with all state and federal code requirements. The incumbent will develop and present safety-training programs to Facilities Services and all campus faculty and staff. The incumbent will serve as the campus RCRA Hazardous Waste Coordinator, and will maintain all applicable DEC, EPA, DOL, and PESH records and training documentation. The incumbent will conduct periodic reviews of campus safety and environmental policies and may oversee campus radiation safety, ensuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations concerning the use of radioactive materials and radiation producing equipment. The incumbent will coordinate all regulatory agency site visits, audits, inspections and follow-up activities.
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will provide oversight to ensure adherence to current NYS building codes. A collaborative working relationship will be developed with the Supervision of Facilities working groups, Campus Project Managers, Capital Projects Manager, and all faculty and staff as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or one of the physical sciences. Three years' experience in project management, or as a health and safety professional.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration. Five years' experience in project management, or as a health and safety professional.
