Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas CityThe Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is looking for a content specialist to further its mission of supporting economic and financial stability. As part of our Public Affairs communications team, you will play an important role in helping ensure the Bank is effectively telling its story across its audiences.
You will have the opportunity to create and edit engaging content that furthers the Bank’s brand, reaches new audiences, and grows the Bank’s influence. You’ll work on content that involves a wide variety of topics and channels, from the Bank’s latest economic research to sharing stories about the Bank’s impact on the community it serves. You will partner with a creative team of writers, designers, PR strategists, video producers, and product owners. You have a record of taking new approaches to content and a strong sense of how to present information on digital platforms.
What You’ll Do
Serve as moderator for the Kansas City Fed’s public website, responsible for developing and approving content, and working with internal stakeholders to optimize their digital content.
Work with business lines to plan, create and distribute email marketing messages and campaigns through Salesforce.
Serve as a moderator and content contributor for the Bank’s social media channels.
Work with business lines across the organization to develop content to support internal and external communication strategies.
Collaborate with the Public Affairs team and other stakeholders to execute projects, publications and events.
Write, proofread, edit and produce content, including printed material, employee communication articles, research articles and reports, and other digital content for use on the web or social media.
Determines appropriate medium and implements plans to deploy content.
Identifies opportunities to tell the organization’s story to internal and external audiences through printed and digital platforms.
Participates in or leads content and planning meetings.
Utilizes metrics to analyze audience engagement and implements improvements based on findings. Makes recommendations for effective communication strategies.
Manages and develops strategic project plans for multiple communication media. Uses content management systems to plan, develop, and schedule content.
Develops editorial calendars to meet external and internal communication goals
Qualifications
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
Capable of working independently or collaboratively and taking initiative to identify opportunities and creative solutions, with general supervision and direction. May consult with management or more senior staff in decision making.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in multimedia storytelling, graphic design and photo editing a plus.
Understanding of social media moderation platforms like Meltwater, Hootsuite or Sprout.
Proficiency in Content Management Systems such as Wagtail, Sitecore or WordPress, and understanding of SEO practices.
Experience creating content for distribution via Customer Relationship Management software like Oracle or Salesforce.
General understanding of economics and the Federal Reserve’s role.

Pay Range: The starting pay range for this position is $54,000 to $97,700 for the job level(s) required for this position. Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate’s qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.
