Job Description

The HR Assistant will be responsible for a temporary support of the Hoefer Welker Human Resources department. This role will assist with the processing of semi-monthly payroll, the setup and maintenance of employee files, onboarding and orientation scheduling for new hires, data entry into the HRIS and payroll systems, recruiting support/scheduling, alignment of the firm's functional titles in the ATS system and provide general support to all members of the HR department as needed. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail oriented person with an outgoing personality and enjoys working with people.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Align functional titles with ATS job postings and write job description to support both.
  • Assist with the disposition of candidates in the firm ATS system.
  • Coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers and potential candidates and attend interviews when necessary.
  • Support human resources processes by maintaining paper and electronic records and general confidential information.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling the orientation processes for new hires.
  • Assist with entering payroll information from time records to status or deduction changes and general information.
  • Perform 2nd level payroll check to ensure payroll accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data.
  • Provide administrative support by entering, formatting, and printing information data as directed by HR department members.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.

Job Requiremetns

Education/Experience:

  • Some college course work or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with recruiting and/or payroll processing preferred.
  • Experience in a professional environment with emphasis on confidentiality
  • Familiarity with ADP, Deltek and Microsoft office software a plus


Qualifications/Skills:

Candidate must have solid verbal and written communications skills, detail orientation, organizational and multi-tasking skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail oriented and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
