What You'll Be Doing:

Provide structural engineering services with emphasis on new design, repair and rehabilitation, and investigation and performance evaluation of a variety of structures and materials under the supervision of a licensed engineer. Essential duties include:

  • Performing a wide range of structural engineering analysis, design and detailing for steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures.
  • Assisting senior staff in on-site surveys and investigations, including but not limited to documenting existing structural conditions, evaluating as built structures, and determining probable root cause of damage/failure.
  • Assisting in preparing engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Aiding senior staff during the construction administration phase of structural engineering projects.

Requirements:

  • This position requires a Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Candidates should also be able to demonstrate working knowledge (gained through education/experience) of any of the following current industry software: ETABS, SAP2000, Risa, RAM, or Autodesk Revit.
  • Qualified candidates are expected to demonstrate strong knowledge of structural theory and behavior through a technical test administered at job interview.
  • Eligible to telecommute 1-2 days/week from home office within normal commuting distance of Washington, DC.
  • Position requires up to 10% travel to project sites. Travel may include nights and weekends.

Compensation:

Anticipated annual base salary: $87,173 - $89,440. This range is a good faith estimate pursuant to applicable equal pay and pay transparency laws. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors including the candidates experience and qualifications, education, and work location.

Base salary is a part of SGHs industry leading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary, pay for extra hours worked, an annual discretionary bonus program, generous paid time off, and health and wellness benefits with a special emphasis on substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGHs Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.
