Overview
The BME (Biomedical Engineering) Laboratory Manager position at NYU Tandon oversees the cell culture facilities, wet laboratory facilities and biomedical engineering operations across the Department of Biomedical Engineering in NYU Tandon. Responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant research environment. The Lab Manager ensures that all laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with university policies and legal standards, supports faculty and research groups, and manages resources effectively. Supervise equipment operations; create and disseminate standard operating procedures and policies. The lab manager is expected to work with other lab managers at Tandon Lab Operations, including providing coverage as needed, to facilitate and ensure smooth laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as biomedical engineering, biological engineering, biochemistry, biology, chemistry etc.
Preferred Education: Doctoral Degree in a relevant field, such as biomedical engineering, biological engineering, biochemistry, biology, chemistry etc. Master's Degree in a relevant field such as biomedical engineering, biological engineering, biochemistry, biology, chemistry
Required Experience: 3+ years experience working in a laboratory environment, managing budgets, supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: High level of independent thinking, creativity and goal oriented productivity. Ability to identify and support implementation of best practices. Experience working with cell culture techniques, including aseptic practices. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
