We’re presenting an exciting opportunity for a Product Merchandiser, in Milwaukee WI. The Product Merchandiser supports the Category Manager in driving category performance through business analytics, product onboarding, pricing strategies, and cross-functional collaboration. This position assists with selecting and managing the exciting merchandise that NBF sells! The role acts as a central hub, communicating with key functions like Marketing, Ecommerce, Sales, Supply Chain and Finance while developing product assortment.
Here’s a General Overview of What You’ll be Doing:
Product Merchandiser Supports the Category Manager with:
Business Intelligence and Analytics – Reports and presents on performance of business, Trends and outliers of performance for their assigned categories.
Driving Product Onboarding – Gains sign off and alignment from key stakeholders for stocked introductions, manages the onboarding checklist to unsure all adoption data is collected accurately and in full.
Seeks product opportunities to meet strategy set by Category Manager and gaps identified via business reviews, internal and external insights (Feedback, Shows, Publications).
Pricing and Promotion – Responsible for product pricing and promotional strategies. Completes comprehensive comp shops for key assortment items in order to determine optimal price for NBF to remain competitive in the marketplace while meeting margin goals.
Product Placement & Presentation – Responsible for cross functional deliverables. Works with the Category Manager on marketing, sales and GTM goals. Handles deliverables to cross functional teams. Conducts product training presentation to sales and customer success teams on a regular cadence. Proactively audits customer web experience (attribution, search and filtration) and works with eCommerce to make updates as needed.
Maintains Showroom based on Category Manager direction.
Gather, communicate and audit product data with our database team
Contact suppliers regarding product changes, pricing updates, promotional opportunities, etc.
Assist with proofing all marketing materials – internal and external facing
Manage product attribution to accurately categorize products
With guidance from Category Manager - manage assortments from key vendors
Review competitors and vendors websites comparing pricing and experience, reporting findings
Understands Inventory flow and collaborates with Category Merchant and Inventory Planner/Buyer to ensure proper stock levels are being met and held
Furniture assembly will be required
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years in a Merchandise Assistant or Assistant Buyer role for an omni-channel retailer
Experience with web-based merchandising tools like PLM, PIM, or STEP
Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and IFERROR functions
Experience using Microsoft Office to create actionable insights through reports and presentations
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Merchandising, Business, Finance, or a related field
Experience reviewing sales, margins, inventory turns, and SKU performance metrics
Experience contributing to product curation and development processes
Experience managing pricing and negotiating with suppliers, including smaller vendors
Experience communicating product details and assortment changes effectively
Experience analyzing competition, pricing strategies, and market trends
Proven track record of meeting deadlines with accuracy
Strong communication and relationship-building experience with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently and taking initiative without daily oversight
Experience negotiating effectively with external suppliers as needed
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Nice to Have:
Furniture and/or home furnishings experience
Experience with Microsoft Access
