This full-time, exempt position reports to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.
Position Summary
The Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's financial strategies, supporting critical decision-making, and ensuring overall financial stability. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, this role includes responsibilities in project financing modeling and contributing to the development of strategic business plans aimed at achieving the Moran's long-term objectives.
Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
Administer the analysis of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support the development and management of budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring they align with corporate objectives.
Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
Track operational costs, identify opportunities for cost savings, and recommend process improvements.
Assist in project financing modeling, including evaluation of capital investments and funding scenarios.
Contribute to the creation and refinement of strategic business plans in collaboration with company leadership.
Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze operational data and assess financial impacts.
Prepare and present clear, comprehensive financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and forecast Moran's financial health.
Participate in special projects, including M&A evaluations, capital expenditure assessments, and other strategic initiatives.
Ensure strict compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are a must.
In-depth knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, and business operations.
Demonstrated expertise in project financing and strategic business planning.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work effectively on project teams cultivating working relationships and produce time sensitive deliverables.
Physical demands of this position include being able to:
Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
Occasional crouching or stooping.
Adept use of a computer, including good finger dexterity.
Hear and speak, including the ability to present to an audience.
Close and color vision, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays.
Working Conditions
Ability and willingness to work in the New Canaan, CT office a minimum of 3 days per week and work remotely the remainder of the week.
Work is performed mainly in a traditional office setting, but travel may be required to visit operating sites throughout United States.
No heavy lifting is expected; occasionally exerting up to 10 lbs. of force (e.g., carrying notes, laptop) may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (computers, mobile devices, etc.).

Our target pay range for the Financial Analyst position is $90,000 -$100,000 per year. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting.
