About Cincinnati Children's: Cincinnati Children's was founded by three women, Mrs. Nellie Phillips Dayton, Isabelle Hopkins and Mary Emery in 1883 as The Hospital of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Southern Ohio. We have grown from a rented three bedroom, one bath house to a health system that spans Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and more with over 19,000 employees.

The Archives Program at Cincinnati Children's was established to preserve and document the history of the people and events that made the medical center what it is today. This website provides an overview and introduces users and researchers to some of the archive's holdings.

A newly established internship program in the Archives aims to give hands on experience in collections management and opportunities to research and write about aspects of the hospital's history. As the hospital approaches its 150th anniversary in 2033, internship projects will be developed to support research endeavors to honor and highlight the accomplishments and challenges that have faced the hospital over its long history.
