·Working toward a B.S. in geology with interest in petrography and the production of rock thin section.·Experience in identification of rocks and minerals in both hand sample and thin section.·Must have taken and passed Optical Mineralogy lecture and lab classes.·No related work experience required.·Must enjoy some physical labor and be organized.
Preferred
·Interested in petrology, geochemistry, hard-rock mining, petrographic research, or a related field.·Experience running mechanical equipment like saws.·Independent worker.

Purpose of Job:
Production of rock thin sections using the equipment in WSB 116, the Geology program's "rock room". Intern will make thin sections from rocks provided by Geology faculty.
