Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee multiple IBM mainframe projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, timeline, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project deliverables and timelines.
Monitor project performance, identifying and addressing issues proactively to keep projects on track.
Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, providing direction and motivation to team members.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to ensure project success and satisfaction.
Implement best practices in project management, continuously improving processes and methodologies.
Conduct post-project reviews to assess outcomes, identify lessons learned, and recommend improvements for future projects.
Mentor junior project managers and team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Job Summary:
As a Senior Technical IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of business systems in support of our banking technology programs. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Project Manager specializing in IBM mainframe technologies to lead our critical projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex mainframe initiatives, a deep understanding of project management methodologies, and the ability to drive teams towards achieving strategic goals. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, technical acumen, and a collaborative approach to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7+ years of project management experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on IBM mainframe projects.
Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies, including z/OS, DB2, CICS, Data Warehouse and relevant development tools.
Proven experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex project environments.
Proficient in project management software and tools.
