Job Description:

Federal Signal has an immediate opening for a Central Regional Sales Manager for our Heavy Duty Division. The successful incumbent will be responsible for increasing sales objectives within the territory, which will include TX, NM, OK, AR, MS, IA, KS, NE, MO, IL, WI, MN, ND, SD, IN, MI, and OH.  They will do so by leading sales efforts to develop new account opportunities and maintaining awareness of market trends and competition. The ideal candidate will be based in Dallas or Chicago preferably.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities



  • Responsible for achievement of new business objectives and programs within assigned territory.

  • Develops sales funnel and forecast projections for new business through the use of the company CRM and Quoteworks Software.

  • Seeking out new market opportunities to incrementally grow product sales thru new customer achievement.

  • Maintains awareness and deals effectively with competitive market conditions that influence sales.

  • Identifies new business opportunities and develops strategy to win business with internal resources.

  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge including features, functions, and benefits in all relevant product groups to assist in the solicitation of orders, sales meetings, and service-oriented functions.

  • As applicable, provides sales direction to the Manufacturer's Rep and Distributor Sales Forces in the form of Product Training, Seminars, Joint Calls, Sales Meetings, Trade Shows, Leads, and approves quotations where pricing actions are necessary.

  • Timely reporting of issues and expense reports to management.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field or 5 or more years of sales experience in lieu of degree.

  • 3+ years sales experience in safety & security business or other relevant area.

  • Experience with Manufacturing Product Reps or Distributors.

  • Willing to travel at least 50%. Good organizational and project management skills.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
