Epsilon Systems is seeking a full time Project Manager III in Mayport, Florida.
Summary: The Project Manager III(PM) is responsible for overall performance of the services offered. With full authority, accountability and responsibility, this position manages all aspects of crane & rigging operations for Epsilon Systems Southeast as well as other customers within the Jacksonville area.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The PM will be accountable for safe execution and performance within the assigned cost, schedule, technical performance, and scope of the project through all project phases.
Successful management of change orders and risks are required.
The PM provides primary customer interface throughout the project lifecycle.
Utilizing project team members, manages the application of labor and materials to achieve timely, better-than-bid results and assure customer satisfaction.
In addition to managing service projects and in all aspects of the job, the incumbent displays leadership, conducts business development, makes difficult decisions, shows respect for others while always acting in the best interest of the company.
Oversees the programs interacting with assigned Project Managers to determine and maintain the most cost-effective method of accomplishing work.
Must be able to identify, assess and analyze with the team, any risk and/or issues that may compromise the successful crane and/or rigging operation, and develop plans/actions that will mitigate risks. Able to provide leadership when schedule / production conflicts may occur for resolution to ensure successful project completion and job profit margins. The Project Manager III is ultimately responsible for meeting all deliverables on-time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction ensuring conformance with contractual requirements.
Strives to develop new business or expands the product line with the customer.
Plans, estimates, negotiates, staffs, directs the work, and reconciles final billings on assigned projects.
Resolves any internal issues that arise over the productive, safe management of the project.
Meets or exceeds customers' expectations for quality, productivity and safety on projects, and manages the customer relationship through any changes in the scope and price of the project to assure continuing customer satisfaction and profitable project closure.
Resolves issues on a day-to-day basis with customer's and owners.
Represents the company fairly and consistently when interacting with customers.
Works closely with the Estimating Department to develop estimates
Writes timely and accurate documentation of each job and contributes accordingly to final written specifications.
Confers with supervision to resolve problems and to improve methods.
Plans, coordinates and directs production activities for assigned projects.
Through subordinate supervision, assures appropriate daily project staffing. Monitors job progress to ensure that manpower works safely and within the limits of the equipment selected for the job and meets job requirements.
Oversees and coordinates the operations of the crane and rigging operations.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, customers
Coordinates and assures appropriate purchasing and shipping and receiving processes are used for tools, equipment, and other products needed for the execution of crane & rigging projects
Arranges for and monitors maintenance and repair of tools, equipment.
Insures all lifting equipment including but not limited to cranes, chain falls, chain hoists, rigging straps are inspected and regular certification is maintained IAW with local, state and federal requirements.
Assesses and documents overall work performance of direct reports by close of project, providing feedback to same.
Investigates violations of work place rules and determines disciplinary action using the consulting services of Human Resources.
Identifies, assesses and analyzes with the Team, any risk and/or issues that may compromise the safe, successful completion of the crane & rigging project, and develop plans/actions that will reduce the risk to an acceptable level.
Controls the profitability of the project through schedule adherence, reprioritization and cost reduction.
Influences and leads others in successful project execution.
Mentors others by modeling respectful behaviors
Applies a systems approach to work planning and execution
Applies financial expertise in accomplishing labor-intensive projects.
Provides strong customer service and achieves customer satisfaction while meeting company goals.
Effectively communicates orally and in writing with diverse groups such as customers, vendors, labor representatives and officials at all levels.
Handles multiple priorities with independence and good judgment.
Supervises as many as fifty employees either directly or through subordinate Foreman.
Requirements:
Certified Crane operator with current license. Able to recertify on a periodic basis as required by local, state and federal regulations.
Fifteen (15) years of crane & rigging experience with demonstrated leadership roles for at least 5 of those years.
Five (5) years of crane operation experience with a demonstrated knowledge of crane & rigging operation rules governed by SERMC and Public Works at Mayport Naval Station
Knowledge of proper standards of conduct and shipboard etiquette.
Ability to identify changes in work scope to ensure appropriate planning measures are being taken including the customers inputs for reassessing, renegotiating, and amending the scope of work, schedules and budgets.
Ability to provide leadership when schedule/production conflicts occur and the team is looking for resolution.
Ability to work nights and weekends during peak workloads or as required to ensure project success.
Willingness to travel and manage ship repair availabilities in remote, out-of-state locations for extended periods of time.
ADA Notations & Work Environment: The physical demands for this position are light to moderate. May require some lifting or assistance with heavy equipment. The incumbent of this position is required to stand for extensive periods of time, in external climates. Must also be able to work long hours, travel internationally via various modes of transportation, and work any day of the week at any time of the day as required to meet customer needs, business objectives and to achieve delivery of service deadlines. The work environment for this job is demanding and potentially hazardous due to work on or inside ships as well as travel around ship repair yard.
