Summary:
Trailer Bridge is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Welder to join and support our US - Equipment Control team. The Welder will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, joining metal parts and fabricating component using various welding techniques. This includes conducting major and minor repairs on trailers, chassis and containers in accordance with established maintenance and safety standards. Candidates will be required to pass an onsite weld test as part of the hiring process. Our Welders will ensure high-quality welds that meet industry standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate welding processes and techniques.
Set up welding equipment and perform welding operations on various materials, including steel, aluminum, and other metals.
Inspect and test welds for quality, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project requirements
Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production schedules and projects deadlines.
Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Document work completed and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors
Completes repair orders and attendance records legibly and in a timely manner
Responsible for shop cleanliness and safety and compliance
Maintains proficiency on equipment and technologies to enhance quality of work and productivity
Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
Additional duties and projects as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalency; vocational training in welding is a plus
3-4 years of container/chassis/trailer repair experience
Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or construction environment
Proficient in MIG, TIG and arc welding techniques
Ability to read and understand technical documents and blueprints
Strong attentions to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Valid welding certification is preferred
Ability to perform strenuous physical activity including, but not limited to, lifting up to 100 lb., bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and working in awkward positions for extended periods of time
Must provide own hand and air tools
CDL and ASE certifications desired but not required
