General Purpose

Provides advice and counsel to management and client organizations. Conducts special studies and analyses, develops alternatives, presents recommendations to management and influences management decisions. Researches, analyzes, develops, and implements new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions.

Responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Manage research activities, analyses, and reporting for PacifiCorp’s ongoing compliance with Washington’s Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) and Oregon’s HB 2021 requirements related to customer and community benefits and metrics.
  • Provide leadership on best practices, emerging trends, and creative thinking on developing and establishing metrics for measuring effectiveness of Company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
  • Lead data synthesis, analysis, tracking, reporting, and visualization by:
    • Defining all customer equity metrics, frameworks, and objectives and key results for equity-related goals.
    • Gathering, analyzing, and auditing customer equity metrics.
    • Building and maintaining a tracking database and reporting dashboard for customer equity metrics.
    • Responding to internal and external data requests, posting materials for regulators’ and/or the public’s review.
  • Serve as the SME in the discipline and provide authoritative consultation and recommendations to senior management.
  • Report complex information in simple terms and communicate to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with resource planning, origination, customer solutions, load forecasting, communications, environmental reporting, and other various groups for developing metrics and reporting.
  • Author relevant sections of Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP), Clean Energy Plan (CEP),and other related filings.
  • Coordinate efforts across internal SMEs and owning deliverables that comply with regulation.
  • Provide two-way communications with internal teams to both gather inputs and socialize actionable conclusions and recommendations.
  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with clean energy program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks.
  • Manage associated vendor and software contracts and oversee their work delivery, as necessary.

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of customer focused-experience in a utility industry or directly related to the position responsibilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of the regulated energy industry.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or environmental justice frameworks & fundamentals.
  • Advanced proficiency with statistical and data processing software, such as R, python, SAS, or Stata, as well as data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Program design skills including development of interventions, processes, or new or modified programs to meet customer needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to establish trust, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions.
  • Ability to work with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively through oral and written means.
  • Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
  • Knowledge of research, analysis and consulting techniques, Company policies, procedures, practices, and applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.

Preferences

  • Advanced degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience.
  • The ability to manage client - vendor relationships.
