Our client, a dynamic and nationally recognized engineering firm, is seeking a Roadway Engineer Project Manager. In this role, you will lead an engineering design team on transportation infrastructure projects for various local agencies, and other Pacific Northwest clients. This role involves managing and leading design projects, maintaining quality control, and mentoring junior staff. This full-time direct hire position is located in Portland, OR.

Responsibilities:
Oversee and guide design projects for transportation structures, including roads, highways, and bikeways
Direct the project design, tracking metrics like budget, timeline, and potential risks
Ensure the final work meets quality standards
Provide guidance to less experienced team members and work with leaders in various roles within the company
Assist in developing proposals and managing client relationships
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering from an ABET-accredited program required
7+ years related roadway and transportation design and project management experience required, 10+ years preferred
Experience leading design tasks or serving as roadway design lead required
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Oregon required
Experience with ODOT or other state department of transportation required, knowledge of ODOT design standards is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft office required
Experience with Bentley OpenRoads/Civil 3D preferred
Prior proposal development and client relationship management experience is desirable, relationships with local agencies a plus
Prior proposal development and client relationship management experience and relationships with local agencies is preferred
Experience winning and delivering design projects for Oregon clients is preferred
Interest in mentoring junior staff and being part of a growing team based in Portland that supports projects in the Pacific Northwest and other offices around the country
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Outstanding verbal and written skills, and experience working with staff on all levels
Excels in advanced thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
