The Conflicts Resolution Attorney resolves conflicts reports and addresses related conflicts of interest issues. This individual performs in-depth research, makes recommendations for resolution, drafts related waivers, and documents clearance. The Attorney will also supervise conflicts staff.
Act as formally designated In–House Counsel to Firm; conduct privileged discussions with and advise General Counsel, partners, associates and staff on conflict issues and resolution.
Review and approve conflict of interest reports resolved by the conflicts resolution analysts. Review and advise on ethical wall questions and issues.
Expedite conflict report resolution by conducting research in firm databases to identify and prioritize potential conflicts issues, collaborate with responsible attorneys and others on potentially conflicting matters to facilitate resolution, and document resolution.
Review and draft conflicts waiver language for insertion in waiver and engagement letters, and in Outside Counsel Guidelines.
Apply advanced techniques to analyze complex conflicts issues in a systematic, communicable and timely manner. Demonstrate detailed knowledge of business needs and ongoing Firm objectives.
Assist with conflicts-related projects, upon request.
Apply and integrate conflicts adherence expertise with the principles of Firm risk management guidelines.
Support and back up Conflicts Counsel, as necessary and upon request.
Advise and train the conflicts analysts on the identification and resolution of conflicts issues. Ensure department objectives are aligned with Firm goals. Apply in-depth understanding of current and long-term client needs.
Collaborate with the conflicts leadership team on the continuing development of the Firm's conflicts policies and procedures. Define approaches to achieving objectives and implementing risk management strategies.
Assist in firmwide and/or individual conflicts training, as needed. Apply leadership skills and advanced management techniques to maximize risk management training and technology.
Supervise New Matter Conflicts Resolution Team.
Ensure Department staff effectively meets client service objectives. Provide supportive coaching; set achievable, challenging team goals; develop skills of team members to ensure achievement of client service priorities.
Prepare timely, substantive and strategically aligned performance evaluations.
ABOUT YOU
J.D. and admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction required.
One year or more of practical law firm experience related to Conflicts Resolution preferred.
Familiarity with IntApp Conflicts, ServiceNow, and Sitescan preferred.
Familiarity with the Rules of Professional Responsibility and the conflict resolution process.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Strong legal research and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build effective internal and external client relationships.
Advanced oral and written communication skills, including the ability to understand, interpret and prepare complex written material and to present complex ideas succinctly.

Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.
San Francisco salary range: $145k to $205k
