This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide preventative maintenance electrical or mechanical operation.
Ability to install /maintain hydraulic equipment, pumps, motors, cylinders.
Troubleshoot or repair mechanical equipment.
Ability to change out or set up equipment, i.e., mixers, pumps, processing equipment.
Must be able to change out and set-up equipment for operation.
Must be able to perform minor prefab and run machine shop equipment.
Personnel are responsible for cleaning their work area.
Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements
Perform all positions of job rotation as needed
Must be able to work overtime if required.
May be subject to call back on weekends and holidays .
Complete all other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Ability and willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Ability and willingness to use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously
Ability and willingness to reach high and low levels, frequently.
Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 40 pounds frequently
Ability and willingness to lift with arms up to floor to waist and waist to shoulder up to 40 pounds.
Ability and willingness to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend up to 10 hours.
Ability and willingness to climb stairs.
Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 10 degrees.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months )
General knowledge of gear drives and conveyors, required
General knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, required.
Able to work weekends, and holidays, required.
Able to complete all paperwork CMMS/SAP functions
This location currently at this time is not accepting rehires, candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods.
