About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
This is manual work in the performance of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks of a physically demanding nature. Work involves, but is not limited to the performance of duties, which are of a routine nature and are performed with some degree of independence. Tasks include but are not limited to: general requests for service with a special emphasis on asset moves and event assistance, refuse/recycling collection, snow/ice removal, pressure washering, and routine pickups and delivery tasks.
Required to drive a truck and some light construction equipment like backhoes, forklifts, bobcats, etc. (Training for light construction vehicles will be provided as needed, no special license required to operate truck, only a valid drivers license and clean driving history)
Works under general supervision. Explicit instructions need be only given on new, non-routine, or unfamiliar procedures.
Essential Functions:
Drives trucks, up to 3-tons, for hauling recycle/refuse, personnel, equipment and materials.
Unloads and moves materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment.
Operates tractors, forklifts, and other light equipment.
Performs related work as required.
Inspect, schedule and perform Pressure-washing as needed.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of one (1) year of work experience is required. Work experience in related field/trade is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate ability to use a variety of small power tools and lighting equipment. Ability to operate trucks, up to, 3-tons. Candidate ,must demonstrate knowledge of the materials, supplies, equipment and practices used in the trade. Candidate must have the ability to recognize minor maintenance needs including with those for needed for vehicles and other equipment and perform variety of tasks. Basic knowledge of Word and Excel, Ability to manage CMMS is preferred.
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University. Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Must posses a valid U.S. Driver's License and have a clean driving history (MVR). Training/license to operate a light to medium-heavy trucks, forklifts and moving equipment preferred.
Must be able & willing to work longer hours for emergencies & to meet deadlines. Evening & weekend work for scheduled work & emergency response is required. Shift flex is required for evenings & weekends. Schedules may be adjusted to accommodate coverage.
