Summary:
This position requires the safe operation of the whey bagging line in accordance with standard operating procedures while monitoring the quality of the outgoing product. This position reports to the Whey Supervisor, no employees report to this position.
Schedule:
This position is Nights 5pm-5:30am.
Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility, and the employee must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as necessary.
Pay Rate:
$24.80 per hour
$0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 6:00pm-6:00am
$1.00 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday
Responsibilities:
Operate bagger equipment efficiently according to SOP's.
Monitor whey powder and packaged product quality.
Conduct hourly scale checks and metal detector checks.
Reconcile bag/pallet weights Complete daily checklists.
Enter data into MES.
Complete paperwork accurately.
Communicate effectively.
Maintain a clean work area according to GMP practices.
Perform all duties in a safe manner complying with all applicable safety policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders as required for the position.
Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7-day operation.
Preferred skills:
Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Background or aptitude towards maintenance or mechanical functions.
Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products.
Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, or similar integrated manufacturing system.
Prior food industry experience.
Physical Demands & Environment:
This position will be exposed to working in a wet/slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature. Must be able to withstand high heat and humidity.
Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders.
Must be able to lift up-to 50 lbs. hourly, climb a ladder, and walk up/downstairs regularly.
