SUMMARY


The driving force behind our growth at Mueller is our people. The machine operator's position is a crucial part of our team and ensuring that we deliver quality to our customers. This position is primarily responsible for operating a rubber injection or compression press; maintaining quality and safety standards; and maintaining equipment and supplies.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES




  • Loads or feeds castings into position weighing 10 to 90 pounds. Anything above 50lbs should be loaded/moved with a crane.






  • Verifies settings by verifying positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.






  • Maintains specifications by observing milling, drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread.






  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.






  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions.






  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.






  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.






  • The ability to load disks into pre-heaters once heated load the disk into the machine to encapsulate with rubber.






  • Once the cycle completes, employees must unload the disks and trim rubber excess rubber off the part using a duck bill knife.





DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS




  • Forklift experience a plus.






  • Experience with injection molding.






  • Experience using overhead cranes.





EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS




  • General math skills with the ability to understand measuring/measurement concepts and their applications.






  • Familiarity with basic tools of measuring and when to use for inspection of parts.






  • Must be organized and detail oriented.






  • Work Safely in the Manufacturing Production Environment.






  • Follow detailed verbal / written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.






  • Read and understand work orders and assembly instructions.






  • Prepare and assemble materials and parts in a manufacturing production environment.






  • Move, process, and organize materials and manufactured products.






  • Perform quality control checks and verification of work order specifications.






  • Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly.






  • Communicates and works effectively with others.






  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Team Lead or Supervisor.






  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.






  • Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing type environment.





PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS




  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.






  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.






  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.






  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision.






  • Ability to use power tools, air tools and other vibratory tools.






  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.






  • Ability to work around hot heavy machinery.






  • Ability to work in an open manufacturing environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold).






  • Must be able to function in a high-pressure production type environment.






  • Must be able to use steps and work on a raised platform for the length of the shift.





TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS




  • No overnight travel required.
