Responsibilities will vary from performing one to several procedures and work instructions of chemical, microbiological, and quality system analyses in an accredited food safety laboratory. Precision, accuracy, and attention to detail in performance of the work instructions and data collection is essential; must be able to maintain complete records for process control and to comply with policies, quality systems, and safety requirements.
The team member will be required to demonstrate and maintain proficiency testing qualifications, to work both independently and as part of the team, to resolve routine problems, plan work tasks, operate, troubleshoot, and perform basic service and maintenance on instruments and equipment, and exhibit growth after training; other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education- College degree in a science-related field: Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, or Physical Sciences, etc. or college science classes with working laboratory experience will be considered.
Computer Skills- general knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office applications
Communication Skills- strong verbal & written communication skills
Special Skills- Work activities are well defined with clearly stated directions or guidelines to follow. Most work steps are clearly prescribed and cannot be modified. Many work duties require repetitive operations.
Position Specific Requirements:
Entry level, primarily night-shift position after initial training completion; an occasional weekend and/or holiday may be scheduled, as needed to meet business needs.
1st preference given to applicants with a degree; 2nd preference is to applicants with education and experience in relationship to Chemistry and or Microbiology.
