Position Details:


Summary of Duties:

In collaboration with Student Affairs Director of Finance and Administration, responsible for oversight of fiscal management and administrative direction of auxiliary units including Housing and Dining Services, Marketing & Communication, Administrative Systems Information Services, Compton Union Building, Auxiliary Facilities Services, Cougar Health Services, Student Health and Wellbeing, University Recreation and the Chinook Student Center. Responsible for supervision of two assistant directors. Oversees financial reporting & projections, budgeting, rate setting, audited financial reports, Service and Activity fee requests and year-end processes. Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in work directly related to business operations and has delegated authority to make commitments that affect department operations.



Required Qualifications:




  • Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field which has included at least two (2) years of management experience. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.




  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.




  • Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.




  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies and procedures.







Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience in higher education accounting and the standards of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).




  • Experience in higher education auxiliary/self-sustaining units finance and administrative functions.




  • Experience with Workday, Adaptive Planning, and QuickBooks.





This position is located on the WSU Pullman campus. The appointment may be eligible for hybrid or remote work arrangement.

Monthly Salary:


$7,541.56 - $9,500.00



In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
