Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing general ledger accounting, performing reconciliations, and processing journal entries. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and proficiency with QuickBooks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Maintain and manage the general ledger, including coding, posting, and balancing accounts.

  • Prepare and record journal entries to keep the financial records up to date.

  • Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial statements to ensure accuracy.

  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.

  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis to track expenses and revenues.

  • Collaborate with project managers to analyze job costing and profitability.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller or senior management.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
