JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Health Analyst is instrumental in converting health-related into actionable insights that inform decision-making and elevate the quality of healthcare services. Tasked with analyzing diverse datasets, this role supports strategic initiatives and works to improve healthcare outcomes by tracking health trends, evaluating program effectiveness, and generating detailed reports that shape organizational strategies. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams ensuring data-driven insights align with both organizational goals and regulatory standards. Through the delivery of valuable health data insights, the Health Analyst fosters informed decision-making and contributes to the ongoing enhancement of healthcare services and strategic objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze health data from electronic health records (EHRs), surveys, and public health databases.
  • Use statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in health data.
  • Develop and generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present data findings clearly and effectively.
  • Prepare presentations and briefings for stakeholders to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Conduct research on health trends, policies, and programs to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare interventions and programs using data-driven approaches.
  • Maintain and manage health data systems and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Implement data quality checks and address discrepancies or issues.
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals, IT staff, and other departments to gather data and understand healthcare needs.
  • Provide analytical support to project teams and assist in developing strategies based on data insights.
  • Ensure that data analysis and reporting comply with relevant regulations, such as HIPAA, and organizational policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques for analyzing health data.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, as well as databases and data management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings.
  • High level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to identify data-related issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and proactive approach to exploring and addressing health data questions.
  • Commitment to maintaining data confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health information management, public health statistics, data science, or related field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in health data analysis, public health research, or related field.

PREFERRED:

  • Master’s degree in health information management, public health statistics, data science, or related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in health data analysis, public health research, or related field.
  • Certification in health informatics, data analysis, or related areas (e.g., Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA), Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)).
  • Familiarity with specific health programs, policies, or initiatives relevant to the role (e.g., chronic disease management, value-based care).
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods or machine learning techniques if relevant to the role.
