JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Survey/Sampling Specialist is a critical contributor to research and data-driven decision-making, leveraging expertise in survey design and sampling methods ensuring the collection of accurate and meaningful data. This role requires expertise in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and validity of data collected, as well as a keen ability to analyze results and translate findings into actionable insights. With a focus on precision and data integrity, the Survey/Sampling Specialist plans a key role in driving informed decision-making and enhancing organizational strategies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and design surveys and questionnaires to meet research or organizational objectives.
  • Ensure survey questions are clear, unbiased, and aligned with study goals.
  • Design and implement sampling plans to ensure representative and statistically valid samples.
  • Determine sample sizes and methodologies appropriate for different types of surveys and research studies.
  • Oversee the administration of surveys, including online, telephone, and face-to-face methods.
  • Ensure data collection processes adhere to ethical standards and maintain data integrity.
  • Analyze survey data using statistical tools and techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and providing recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of survey and sampling methods to ensure high-quality data collection.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to data collection or sampling processes.
  • Work with stakeholders, including researchers, analysts, and project managers, to understand data needs and provide support for data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of survey designs, sampling methods, and data analysis procedures.
  • Ensure all survey and sampling activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and ethical guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of survey methodologies, question design, and data collection techniques.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation to extract meaningful insights.
  • Experience with survey tools and software (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics) and data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in survey design, data collection, and analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and address issues in survey and sampling processes and propose effective solutions.
  • Skills in managing multiple projects, including designing surveys, collecting data, and analyzing results.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Commitment to ethical practices in survey administration and data handling.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, research methods, social sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in designing surveys, managing sampling processes, or conducting research.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, or Excel).

PREFERRED:

  • Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, research methods, social sciences, or related field, particularly in a role involving complex data analysis or advanced research.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation practices.
  • Certification in survey methodology, research methods, or data analysis (e.g., Certified Professional in Survey Research (CPSR)).
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and experience with large-scale data analysis.
  • Familiarity with survey and sampling in specific industries (e.g., healthcare, market research) if relevant to the role.
