RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, a prominent non-profit organization in Washington, DC, is seeking a Tax Director to lead its tax compliance and strategy functions. The ideal candidate will hold a CPA certification and be responsible for managing and overseeing all federal, state, and local tax reporting and regulatory filings. This role involves ensuring compliance, performing in-depth research, and providing strategic support for various tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft reports, memos, and disclosures for management and board members, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and tax compliance


• Conduct research and provide analysis on a wide range of tax issues, including business operations and reporting related to investments


• Lead and coordinate the preparation, review, and filing of tax returns and regulatory reports at federal, state, and local levels


• Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to manage tax-related projects and resolve complex tax issues


• Oversee special tax-related projects and perform additional duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related degree


• CPA certification required


• 10+ years of progressive tax experience


• Proven experience managing federal, state, and local tax returns and compliance


• Strong research, analytical, and communication skills


• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external advisors

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
