Primary Role



The Business Intelligence Analyst will spend most of their time analyzing data and structuring data in a way that tells the story to supply chain leadership and to the business particularly: past trends, current conditions, and future predictions. The BI Analyst will be able to understand large chunks of data and trends, and then communicate those trends to the company and recommend best practices. The position will track metrics and compliance to ensure launched initiatives deliver necessary value.




Key Accountabilities




  • Responsible for providing support, analysis, monitoring and problem-solving value while managing, shaping, driving, & influencing Supply Chain performance and continuous improvement.
  • Monitoring, enforcing, and facilitating data quality and governance.
  • Support rate cases by complying with data requests as necessary along with automating reports to support an employee self-service model.
  • Perform financial and market analysis to determine feasibility of projects. Quantify benefits and perform cost-benefit analysis while providing support to internal supply chain and business unit stakeholders in order to assist in the development of fact-based procurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology as necessary on projects involving procurement systems and other technology such as but not limited to, generative artificial intelligence to improve reporting, increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Support the development of a market intelligence program to provide industry and economic forecasts and associated impacts to AW's business plans.
  • Research supply markets for information related to innovation, pending/changing industry regulations, commodity volatility, constraints, and best practices associated with company procurement requirements of a less complex nature.
  • Monitors major commodities and company/industry specific cost drivers while maintain and fostering ties to appropriate industry peers/groups to conduct ongoing research of industry best practices and benchmarks.




Knowledge/Skills




  • Core and back-office systems and processes including SAP and Coupa.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis techniques.
  • Strategic sourcing methodologies and processes.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and data governance.
  • Regulated utility accounting practices.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, synthesize, enrich, and organize information.
  • Process skills that enable parallel gathering and analysis of broad data sets, networking.
  • Ability to extract insights from market data and information.
  • Ability to conceptualize analysis for new areas incorporating relevant information from across the business.
  • Organize, plan and execute projects.
  • Social skills to work with a broad set of contacts across the organization and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, organizational and presentation skills.




Experience/Education




  • Minimum 4 years total work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years analytical experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of market research and cost analysis.
  • Utility industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent combination of business / education experience required.




Certifications & Licenses




  • CSCA, Certified Supply Chain Analyst is a plus.




Work Environment




  • 3:2 hybrid schedule - 3-days working in the office, 2-days working remotely.




Travel Requirements




  • Infrequent travel required and as business needs arise.
