Salary: $65,000.000 - $70,000.00 wage range. You will receive a competitive total rewards package that is applicable to the U.S. only. The salary range may vary based on experience, skillset, and geographical location.

AttainX is seeking a Technical Writer to assist in development of a comprehensive documentation methodology and framework that ensures consistency and efficiency across our technical and user-facing content. This is a role where you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and evolving the documentation standards that support our clients’ systems, programming, and user operations. The ideal candidate will have a background with technical writing, training, and editing experience. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, editing, and making recommendations for technical documents and presentations. Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in writing and editing technical documents.
  • 2 years of experience understanding federal financial accounting data and mixed financial data in order to support complex and innovative reporting analysis for EPA management.
  • Ability to analyze and present technical information to a variety of audiences, including technical experts, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Experience developing training and communication materials related to software development and data analysis.
  • Assist with the creation of documentation methodologies and frameworks including:
    1. Generation of technical operation and maintenance manual for OCFO/OTS applications, database, and COTS software.
    2. Documentation of core product and customer solution-specific code.
    3. Creation of document flow diagrams.
    4. Documentation of programming methodologies and toolkit use.
    5. Development and maintenance of user training materials.
    6. Development of training curricula.
  • Knowledgeable with technical writing tools, applications, and workflows.
  • Experienced creating technical documentation such as user guides, technical guides, templates, training materials.
  • Experienced developing and managing technical documentation, review process steps, and researching tools.
  • Document Robotic Process Automation (RPA) program.
  • Proven experience in technical writing, with a focus on systems and user documentation.
  • Must have analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent communication and communication skills to work effectively with senior stakeholders and the public.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Background in technology, programming, or systems operations.
  • Attention to detail with a passion for delivering clear and concise documentation.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Python.
  • Expert user of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a security clearance public trust background check.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Documentation Methodology & Framework: Assis with design, implementation, and maintain documentation standards and best practices for consistency and efficiency across the organization.
  • Understand the federal financial accounting data and mixed financial data in order to support complex and innovative reporting and analysis for EPA management.
  • Content Creation & Maintenance: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation related to systems operation, programming, and end-user manuals to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Capture project requirements based on meetings with subject matter experts.
    • Write and review data dictionaries,
    • Participate in meetings with subject matter experts to revise, update, and improve business processes.
    • Synthesize technical information from across departments to create standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical writer support with expertise in creating work products that document the design and development of applications and capture past, current and future states, for the OTS suite of systems. Which includes creation or maintenance, at a minimum, for all Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation necessary to appropriately describe and record the applications in the OTS library.
  • Responsible for inputting and updating all technical documentation in OTS standard project management structure (i.e., Project Web App (PWA)) and shall acquire the information to create the documentation by attending meetings, talking to SMEs, and researching existing documentation to produce the SDLC documentation.
  • Work with OTS staff to obtain the information needed to create various documents needed for tracking, managing, and documenting IT systems throughout various stages of development, enhancement, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M).
  • Create a standard technical O&M Manual for OCFO/OTS applications, database, and COTS software and develop templates that can be used to document any software process. Templates will follow a standard protocol and include the following items at a minimum: scope statement, applicability matrix, COTS product and application configuration, process, operation matrix and detail technical operation and maintenance manual.
  • Assist with design and document business processes for RPA program.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with senior team members across various departments to gather information, review content, and ensure accuracy and clarity in documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review, update, and enhance existing documentation to reflect system updates, user feedback, and emerging industry standards.
  • Ensure Quality & Consistency: Develop and enforce editorial guidelines to ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and adheres to company standards.
