Assists West Knoxville Credit Manager with the day-to-day activities of the West Knoxville Credit Department, including but not limited to the following: existing customer monitoring, new customer account setup, Accounts Receivable (“A/R”) collection, and certificate of insurance tracking/management
Based in the West Knoxville location (equipment rental focus) and reports to the West Knoxville Credit Manager
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Assists with new customer account setup, including but not limited to the following: Reviews credit applications to ensure information is accurate and complete; follows up with customers, as needed, on any missing information; utilizes various credit reporting tools (D&B, etc.) in analyzing customer’s credit profile; and opens new customer accounts based on credit limits provided by the Credit Manager
Assists with A/R collection efforts in tandem with the entire credit team, including but not limited to outbound calls and emails, discussions with Company departmental leaders, notifying Credit Manager of any potential A/R issues, and partnering with external counsel or agencies on problematic account collections
Assists with pre-meeting preparation for Quarterly Internal A/R Review Meetings
Manages Certificates of Insurance for customers including scanning/archiving certificates, tracking for any certificates approaching expiration, and working with customer insurance companies to obtain updated insurance certificates
Researches and assists with any sales tax-related questions, as needed
Assists with Service Department work order approval process, including reviewing and approving/rejecting various credit approval requests for customer work orders
Investigates various UCC filings and related lien laws and communicates findings to Credit Manager
Serves as a notary for the West Knoxville location (notary license required prior to or after joining company) on various legal and other documents
Assists with documenting various Credit policies, procedures, and internal controls, including assistance on applicable Credit-related items for the Company’s planned new ERP system
Performs other recurring duties as assigned, including ad hoc projects and analysis
Education & Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
Five to seven years relevant work experience, with one to two years of credit experience preferred
Some exposure to various state tax provisions and lien laws desired
Detail-oriented team player, with excellent organizational skills and customer relationship skills (both internal and external customers)
Solid verbal, written, and analytical skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (in particular Excel) and ability to quickly pick up on role-relevant computer applications and systems. Main computer systems currently utilized in this role are the General Ledger & Accounts Receivable Coding System (Unit 4) and Inventory/Invoicing System (DBS).
Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug screen
