ABOUT THE JOB
The Pharmacy Technician partners with a pharmacist to process and safely dispense prescription drugs. Assist with medication inventory, adhere to accuracy regulations, maintain security of drugs in the pharmacy, and handle insurance and drug chain of custody paperwork. Ensure pharmacist reviews for accuracy before dispensing to the patient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with medication inventory and chain of custody of drugs, adhere to accuracy regulations, maintain security of drugs in the pharmacy, handle insurance paperwork, and streamlining the process for patients to receive their prescriptions promptly and without complications.
Greet patients, answer questions, and seek pharmacist to answer questions out of scope of the technician responsibility.
Receive prescriptions from the patient or provider and check their validity, asking questions if prescription is not clear or missing information.
Resolve issues immediately when they arise (i.e., rejected insurance claims, inaccurate name identification, etc.).
Locate appropriate medicine, measure dosage, dispense, pack, and label a prescribed medication for a patient that is then reviewed for accuracy by a pharmacist before dispensed to the patient. Ensure all information is complete, current, and accurate.
Frequently clean and sterilize surfaces and equipment in the pharmacy.
Organize, sort, stock, label medication, and monitor inventory. Ensure medications are ordered and follow-up on shipments to maintain stock levels.
Undertake administrative tasks such as record-keeping, signage, contacting facilities or medical equipment technicians as needed.
Comply with all confidentiality, safety and security measures, and quality standards
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma and an active Certified Pharmacy Technician certification plus a minimum of 2 years' experience as a pharmacy technician, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience with an online prescription system, knowledge of medication and dosage measurements and familiar with pharmacy law and medical terminology.

Pay Range: $21.00-25.00/hr
