Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Job Cost Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the Senior Cost Accountant.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing costs associated with construction projects.
  • Tracking expenses related to labor, materials, subcontractors, and other costs for each job.
  • Assist in Monthly Review of projects with the Project Managers
  • Assist in posting monthly job accruals and Work in Progress review.
  • Assist in Cap Ex Budgeting and Annual Plant Budget Process
  • Preparing cost-related reports for management.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Contributing to accurate financial statements.
  • 10-15% travel required, based out of West Springfield office.
  • Other duties as assigned. ?


Position Requirements:
  • Associates degree or higher in accounting or equivalent field experience
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles; construction industry preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products, with strong expertise in Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and curious
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Vista a plus
  • 3-5 years of general accounting experience to include payroll, accounts payable or accounts receivable (internal applicants may be appointed with less than this)


Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate in the office to occasionally loud at field locations
