Job Description:

SUMMARY



Responsible for planning, organizing and managing an assigned business unit. Operate within broad objectives to ensure optimum utilization of resources; adapt business unit plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Evaluate policies, procedures and business unit goals to make decisions and solve problems.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, organizes, and directs activities of an assigned business area, including, but not limited to, planning, training, staff development, staff selection, and communication.
  • Manage the evaluation of new and existing business processes to identify areas of opportunity and execute on business unit objectives, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop the work of assigned employees.
  • Maintains and promotes quality relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Compiles and analyzes statistics and prepares activity related reports, manpower needs, and inventories and monitors all workflows within the unit.
  • Leads and participates in workgroups and task forces in order to complete special assignments and projects.
  • Evaluates and/or creates policies and processes to control supply expenditures and promotes efficient use of resources.
  • Participates in development of annual departmental budget, monitors budget, and identifies budget discrepancies.
  • Responsible for balancing workload to optimize the effectiveness of the department.



  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Health Care Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Five years' experience of progressive responsibility in a business environment with demonstrated technical knowledge that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
  • Three years supervisory or lead experience in business required. Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Valid Michigan Accident and Health Insurance license is required for managers whose primary emphasis is sales.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license is required.
  • Certification or progress toward role related certification(s) is highly preferred and encouraged.

  • Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.
  • Ability and proficiency in the use of computers and Company standard software specific to position.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with moving variables in situations with limited standardization and alignment.
  • Ability to interface and present to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.



  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES



    Directly supervises a varied number of employees in the designated department(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate's skills and professional experience, geographic location, market, and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $92,200 and $154,500.
