JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary purpose:

The Tallgrass Energy Partners IT group is looking for an IT Business Systems Manager to oversee the Data and Analytics team. This team consists of developers, system administrators, and technical analysts who are responsible for providing developing, supporting, and administering third-party applications, managing data and providing insight and analysis.

Manages a team of developers, system administrators, and technical analysts responsible for the management of data and delivery of insight. Allocates team resources and monitors team progress to ensure internal customer needs are met in a timely fashion. Oversees deliverables and ensures quality of results. Coordinates with other teams to identify and implement new solutions to support business function at effective cost. Reports to a head of a unit/department. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first-level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Typically requires 7+ years' experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 3+ years supervisory experience may be required.JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum requirements:

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of ten (10+) years direct work experience in IT or a related discipline may be considered as a substitute for a degree.

  • MBA or MIS preferred.

  • Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • 3+ years in an IT leadership role, preferably in a team environment with diverse applications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience growing team members' skillsets thus realizing improved business performance.

  • Very strong technical resource with deep hands-on experience implementing, supporting, and administering:

  • Extract-Transform-Load tools across a complex technical ecosystem; Talend experience preferred.

  • Data management and analysis solutions enabling a public cloud-based Data Lake (data warehouse), Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for self-service reporting, advanced analytics services for advanced/statistical analysis; MS PowerBI, MS Azure, MS Azure Analytics Services experience preferred.

  • Highly stylized and formatted reports meeting regulatory and customer requirements; SAP Business Objects experience preferred.

  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA) delivery of automation to obviate repetitive manual activities; UI Path experience preferred.

  • Multiple, concurrent streams of near real-time telemetry across multiple lines of business; OSISoft Pi experience preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of PL\SQL or T-SQL development

  • Advanced knowledge of Java and .Net

  • Advanced knowledge of networks, firewalls, and network segmentation.

  • Experience managing a budget across a large portfolio of projects and application support.

  • Experience managing a diverse vendor ecosystem.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)

  • PMP or Scrum Master certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Leading a team of 7+ direct reports.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position:


  • MBA or MIS preferred.

  • PMP or Scrum Master certification preferred.


Compensation:

The salary range for the role is $140,000-$170,000/yr.

  • Leads the team, including hiring, training, scheduling work assignments and conducting evaluations.
  • Guides the work, including conducting regular technical reviews, post project retrospectives, root cause analyses on issue remediation, and adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop and implement effective project plans and ensure project milestones and cost objectives are met.
  • Strategic planning aligning technical strategy to business capability enablement.
  • Business Relationship Management providing consultative engagement to business stakeholders.
  • Financial planning and budgeting on both a long-range plan (LRP) and annual operating plan (AOP) basis
  • Career development and pathing for all members of the team directly, indirectly for Enterprise
  • Vendor management driving best performance metrics with vendor partners.
  • Negotiate, write, and report on internal and external service level agreements.
  • Provide risk assessment. Implement and maintain system management and monitoring tools.
  • Develop framework to assess new technologies, evaluate for viability.
  • Implement security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms.
  • Monitor response times, evaluate user satisfaction levels, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage process for communicating outage/emergency activities to the organization.
  • Ensure the adherence to change control procedures.
  • Work with the application team and software vendors to address related issues and application upgrade activities.
  • Complete all applicable documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Provide after-hours support for escalated issues.
  • Engage varied stakeholders with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of speaking and listening skills
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • Work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the public.
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined.
