Job Title: CT Tech



Duties:

• Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
  
  


• Perform high-quality images and exams while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
  
  


• Follow standards of safe radiation practice and reduce exposure to ALARA levels.
  
  


• Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a clinical resource for unit personnel.
  
  


• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures ensuring safety for self, patients, and others.
  
  


• Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  
  


• Prepare patients for exams and provide information and instructions.
  
  


• Assist and position patients during exams.
  
  


• Observe patients and equipment during procedures and document unusual occurrences.
  
  


• Facilitate smooth patient flow and optimal use of equipment/resources.
  
  


• Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.
  
  


• Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
  
  


• Complete hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam performed.
  
  


• Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify service when necessary.
  
  


• Maintain clean work areas and document quality checks and equipment maintenance.
  
  


• Participate in clinical training for students and/or staff technologists.
  
  


• Engage in professional activities and participate in quality/process improvement initiatives.
  
  


• Maintain compliance with State, Federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations.
  
  

Skills:

• Minimum one year of related experience required.
  
  


• Float assignments may include duties outside of original job requirements per Centura policy.
  
  

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
  
  


• Associate Degree strongly preferred; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  
  


• RT (R) (CT) required (ARRT(CT), ARRT(N), ARRT(T), or CNMT registry).
  
  


• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required.
  
  


• Licensed Radiology Technologist in the state of employment required.
