PLC Controls Engineer

Salary- $80,000.00 - $105,000.00/ YR

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems for global power generation and industrial projects.


• Review project designs to ensure alignment with customer specifications, RFQs/RFPs, and purchase orders.


• Design and approve electrical documentation including layout drawings, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and network topology diagrams using AutoCAD 2D.


• Develop PLC software and HMI interfaces based on logic diagrams, control narratives, OEM documentation, cause & effect matrices, and P&IDs.


• Troubleshoot existing PLC programs using real-time data, historical logs, and customer feedback.


• Perform testing, startup, and commissioning of control systems in factory and on-site environments.


• Direct and support electrical technicians during control panel fabrication and installation.


• Develop and deliver project documentation including test procedures, specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guides.


• Support site services such as installation supervision, customer training, and system validation.


• Adhere to internal engineering standards and project execution processes.

Qualifications:

• 
  Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or a related field.


• 
  Experience:
  
  
  
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Electrical, Controls, or Project Engineering roles.
  
  
  • 3+ years in an automation environment involving PLC software development, configuration, testing, and implementation.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Technical Skills:
  
  
  
  • Proficiency in PLC platforms: Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation, Siemens, GE/Emerson (e.g., MKV, MKVI, MKVIe).
  
  
  • HMI development using: RSView Studio, FactoryTalk View, Cimplicity, Wonderware/InTouch, Ignition.
  
  
  • Ability to interpret and create Electrical Schematics, Cable Schedules, P&IDs, Control Logic Diagrams, and Cause & Effect Diagrams.
  
  
  • Electrical design skills including component specification and low-voltage power distribution (480 VAC/120 VAC) and process instrumentation.
  
  
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D for connection drawing creation.
  
  
  • Familiarity with UL508A and NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) standards.
  
  
  • Skilled in using electrical testing tools: digital multimeters, calibrators, function generators.
  
  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  
  
  
  


• 
  Preferred Experience:
  
  
  
  • Background with gas turbines from GE, Siemens, Westinghouse, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, Solar, ABB, or Mitsubishi.
  
  
  • Global project support and willingness to travel 30-50% domestically and internationally.
