As the CSfC Systems Engineer, the individual will assist and support with the development, configuration, testing, and evaluation of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) solutions used to secure government customers' classified data and networks. The Engineer will work individually and as a member of a team to configure network, software, and hardware networking components and security appliances and applications to meet DoD requirements and support their installation and initialization onsite in the customers' environments.
This is a full-time on-site position (not a remote role).
Responsibilities:
Writes standardized system documentation, including configuration guides, test procedures, test results, and training materials
Provides onsite training to technical and non-technical users on the daily use, management, and troubleshooting of the solution after installation
Collaborates with other operations departments to design approved infrastructure
Serves as the escalation contact during large outages for Tier 2 and 3 systems.
Authors network Engineering Design Packages including detailed implementation project plans and procedures.
Configures network, software, and hardware components to meet NSA CSfC, NIAP, and DoD requirements
Performs network design and systems integration
Designs, develops, implements, tests and maintains complex secure communications networks
Configures Certificate Authority (ISC CertAgent/MS Windows Server/Red Hat Certificate systems)
Configures firewalls, Intrusion Prevention/Detection systems, vpn gateways, wireless controllers from various vendors (e.g., Aruba, Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWALL, Juniper)
Documents configuration, test procedure, results, and training materials
Prepares test reports and configuration documentation according to customer standards.
Provides customer on-site training on solution daily use, management, and troubleshooting
Provides customer on-site solution installation and integration
Manages contractors and vendors during the implementation phase.
Provides tier 2 and 3 support as part of a technical team.
Identifies and recommends hardware and support solutions based on research and analysis of new technologies, interfacing with customers and vendors.
Provides technical expertise to sales engineering teams during complex network developments
Serves as Systems Integrator for the various contracts within the DoD
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the company
Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Security+ Certification
Professional level certifications in either Microsoft, VMware or Linux.
Prior Experience with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) programs, solutions, and architectures
Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience working with network security platforms in a service provider environment.
5 or more years of experience with commercial Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and encryption algorithms
Prior experience with configuring network components, including routers and switches
Prior experience with configuring security devices and appliances, security information, and event management software
Possess the flexibility to work in both a team environment as well as independently
Ability to communicate with technical and business staff alike.
Knowledge of commonly used ports and protocols
Ability to develop technical documentation
Ability to review and develop configuration guides and other customer training deliverables
Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering degree or Information Systems degree. Experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
