As the CSfC Network Engineer, the individual will assist and support with the development, configuration, testing, and evaluation of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) solutions used to secure government customers' classified data and networks. The Engineer will work individually and as a member of a team to configure network, software, and hardware networking components and security appliances and applications to meet DoD requirements and support their installation and initialization onsite in the customers' environments.
This is a full-time on-site position (not a remote role).
Responsibilities:
Writes standardized system documentation, including configuration guides, test procedures, test results, and training materials
Collaborates with other operations departments to design approved infrastructure
Serves as the escalation contact during large outages for Tier 2 and 3 systems
Authors network Engineering Design Packages including detailed implementation project plans and procedures
Configures network, software, and hardware components to meet NSA CSfC, NIAP, and DoD requirements
Performs network design and systems integration
Designs, develops, implements, tests, and maintains complex secure communications networks.
Configures Certificate Authority Systems (ISC CertAgent/MS Windows Server/Red Hat Certificate systems)
Configures firewalls, Intrusion Prevention/Detection systems, vpn gateways, wireless controllers from various vendors (e.g., Aruba, Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWALL, Juniper)
Documents configuration, test procedure, results, and training materials
Prepares test reports and configuration documentation according to customer standards
Provides customer on-site solution installation and integration
Manages contractors and vendors during the implementation phase
Provides tier 2 and 3 support as part of a technical team
Identifies and recommend hardware and support solutions based on research and analysis of new technologies, interfacing with customers and vendors
Provides technical expertise to sales engineering teams during complex network developments.
Serves as Systems Integrator for the various contracts within the DoD
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the company
Performs other tasks as required by OSC Edge and the Government contracting team
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Security+ Certification
Prior Experience with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) programs, solutions, and architectures
Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience working with network security platforms in a service provider environment
Professional level certifications in either Cisco, Red Hat, Aruba, Palo Alto
Expert in configuring network components, including routers and switches
Expert in configuring security devices and appliances, security information, and event management software
Possess the flexibility to work in both a team environment as well as independently
Ability to communicate with technical and business staff alike
Knowledge of commonly used ports and protocols
Proficient in developing technical documentation
Ability to review and develop configuration guides and other customer training deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering degree or Information Systems degree. Experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
Professional level certifications in either Cisco, Linux, Aruba, Palo Alto or VMware
Five (5) or more years of experience with commercial Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and encryption algorithms
