The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the food production facility. This role ensures that all equipment and machinery are functioning optimally to support efficient production processes. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians and coordinate with other departments to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective maintenance of equipment.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with production equipment.
Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies.
Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools, and manage procurement to ensure availability when needed.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to minimize production disruptions.
Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production.
Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, knowledge of food safety regulations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in varying environmental conditions.
