We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineering Manager to lead our Quality Engineering (QE) team and drive the development and execution of robust testing strategies across the platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering, with expertise in driving test strategy, process improvement, and team development. As the QE Manager, you will be responsible for setting the direction of our testing practices, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
Lead and provide direction to multiple QE teams across the platform, acting as an advisor to product teams on tasks, and QE processes.
Define and drive the goals for the Quality Engineering community, including regular meetings, agenda-setting, and tracking of action items.
Develop and implement testing strategies for various products, including Integration Testing, Functional/Acceptance Testing, Regression/End-to-End Testing, Performance Testing, and Smoke Testing.
Review and select testing frameworks, ensuring adoption and consistency across the platform.
Create and align high-level team goals with platform objectives, ensuring clarity and focus on key deliverables.
Mentor and evaluate new QE resources, provide training, define learning plans, and support knowledge transfer.
Standardize and optimize testing processes, best practices, and methodologies to align with the organization's Quality Engineering Center of Excellence.
Stay current with trends, tools, and regulations in quality engineering to continually evolve testing practices.
Innovate and drive engineering improvements to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
Collaborate with cross-functional product teams on test engineering and development initiatives across products.
Define the strategy for performance testing, including processes, practices, and tools.
Monitor and report on quality metrics, providing actionable insights to improve product quality.
Develop processes for independent testing in a microservices architecture environment.
Champion process changes to enable in-sprint automation testing, with a practical understanding of its implementation.
Ensure the adoption of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of quality documentation, including quality manuals, procedures, and reports.
Provide support and remove blockers for QE resources as needed.
Support the quality assurance portion of proposals and RFPs.
Utilize advanced quality tools and techniques, such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Statistical Process Control, to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
Strong leadership experience, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and guide teams to success.
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks like Selenium and Serenity.
In-depth understanding of test methodologies, including integration, functional, regression, performance, and smoke testing.
Practical knowledge of in-sprint automation and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
Experience in defining, measuring, and reporting on system quality.
Strong problem-solving skills with experience in driving continuous improvement using advanced quality tools and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with microservices architecture and independent testing practices in such environments.
