The Role
Thornton Tomasetti's Boston office is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to be part of our dynamic and growing practice, collaborates with architects, owners and contractors to develop efficient solutions for projects of all types, sizes, and levels of complexity. Our group is known for its holistic view with analytical approach informed by past experience and interdisciplinary expertise between geotechnical and structural engineering. You will be successful in this role if you enjoy working with a strong team, like to communication with others, and enjoy complex engineering projects.
Responsibilities
You will assist in the direction, coordination, planning, organization, integration, and completion of local projects
There will be ample opportunities for you to communicate with client and project teams to understand project requirements
The day to day will provide the opportunity to perform geotechnical and structural analysis and design, present data and results.
You will be a manager and mentor to other engineers to help them gain knowledge and grow their technical skills.
Communicate the progress and challenges of assigned tasks with supervisor in order to observe and manage field explorations and construction activities.
Be part of planning and formulating project schedules for the project's requirement.
You will be a key asset to contributing to the group's business development efforts
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. Masters Degree in Geotechnical engineering or Structural engineering is preferred.
Experience in soil-structure interaction work.
4+ years of experience.
Professional Engineering License is required.
10% travel to local job sites to perform field work.
Proficient in Microsoft office suite, Autocad, Revit, Geostudio software suite, Plaxis, SAP2000, Ensoft software suite.
Compensation
The rate for this position generally is$100,000-$120,000annually.This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Massachusetts Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is based on what a successful Massachusetts applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Massachusetts or perform the position from Massachusetts. Similar positions located outside of Massachusetts will not necessarily receive the same compensation.Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted byMassachusettsEqual Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
