Description

The Building Engineer I is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, life safety and tenant requests as well as other tasks assigned by the Chief or Assistant Chief Engineer as required.

Ensure that all building systems are being operated safely, efficiently, and as originally intended. Systems to include HVAC, water treatment plants, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety. Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to building systems and equipment. Assist Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer with data entry of building equipment and tasks, and scheduling of the Preventative Maintenance program. Complete all service requests in a timely manner. Self-initiate service requests as needed. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Work with vendors and contractors within the building. Troubleshooting and repairs of building systems. Monitor all building systems. Responds to building emergencies. Looks for opportunities to continually improve maintenance processes and make recommendations to superiors Respond to 24-hour emergency calls as required. Carry mobile phone as required for on-call duty. Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays Maintain and control inventory as needed for cost effective operations. Prepare reports and documentation as required. Strictly adheres all safety rules and regulations. Other duties as assigned.
