Overview:
In anticipation of a contract award, Tantus Technologies, Inc. - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking a Senior Section 508 Analyst. You will be responsible for leading all compliance assessments and remediation for federal government customer’s public web sites, internal web sites, and custom developed web applications as per the Section 508 Rehabilitation Act. As a lead analyst, you will be part of a large web application and software development team supporting federal healthcare institutes and or centers for scientific, bio-informatic, and medical research. This is a key role meant to ensure websites, web applications, work products, digital and printed materials are accessible to internal and external users. Ensuring compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for over 300 applications and websites play an instrumental role n communicating with internal stakeholders as well as members of the public.
Location: Hybrid role in Bethesda, MD.
Clearance: This position supports a federal contract and requires the ability to pass a background check.
What Youll do:
Represent federal customer at the 508 Advisory Group Meetings and provide summary reports to federal customer’s 508 Coordinator.
Create compliance measures of the public web sites by using the rule-sets defined in the existing tool.
Provide remediation support including but not limited to conducting and recommending remediation for applications, websites, PDFs, blast emails, videos, podcasts, audio-slide-shows, online surveys, Word docs, and Excel documents using a standard checking process that incorporates the requirements for Section 508 compliance.
Identify content that may require an accommodation waiver and work with appropriate staff and the federal customer Section 508 Coordinator to develop and submit applications to the NIH Section 508 Advisory Group.
Ensure all sites meet the standards for accessibility by individuals with disabilities (Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act) as well as all applicable Federal, Departmental, and Agency standards for security and privacy.
Required knowledge and skills
Bachelor' Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, management, other related discipline or equivalent.
Min 10 years expertise in reviewing websites, applications, webinars, emails, and multimedia for 508 Compliance and making PDFs, websites, videos, and documents 508 compliant.
Experience conducting 508 Compliance training.
Experience providing remediation support including but not limited to conducting and recommending remediation for applications, websites, PDFs, blast emails, videos, podcasts, audio slideshows, online surveys, Word docs, and Excel documents using a standard checking process that incorporates requirements for Section 508 compliance.
Experience with any of the following tools: JAWS and NVDA screen readers, WAVE and aXe web accessibility tools, Color Contrast Analyzer, Validity HTML Checker, MAGic zoom tool, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Acrobat Pro, CommonLook PDF, and PAC (PDF Accessibility Checker).
Abilities
Understanding of Federal Government policies and procedures and demonstrated ability to meet fast turnaround deadlines.
Nice to haves
Active certification in an industry standard for Section 508 compliance, testing, and accessibility. Accessibility standards testing, Rehabilitation Act, WAVE, JAWS, PAC (PDF Accessibility Checker.

Salary Range:
Salary range is $100,000-115,000/year. The salary range for this position reflects a variety of factors that influence compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
