Position Overview:
The New Store Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of merchandise for new stores. This position is required to analyze, coordinate and manage merchandise for new store, to include the preparation, planning and creation of grand opening ads.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and update the major project calendar for new stores.
Collaborate with the Merchandising, Store Opening Team and Marketing on new store needs.
Coordinate with Buyer's to review item details and samples on featured items.
Coordinate with DC teams to ensure grand opening deliveries and post opening delivery flow is maintained.
Manage new store inventory levels to meet category and department level goals.
Coordinate photography and samples with Marketing for ad preparation.
Proof all new store ads to ensure accuracy of sales information and product description.
Manage inventory codes in JDA and sister stores, utilizing ARTHUR.
Assign, monitor and adjust like stores for new store allocation over a 12 week period.
Ensure merchandise is in stock on all featured items for the new store ads with correct quantities.
Allocate ad goods for new stores using the ARTHUR allocation system.
Open all new store allocations, to include assigning attributes, grades and store groups in the AS400 and ARTHUR systems.
Attend weekly new store team conference calls.
Create grand opening ads and subsequent ads for new stores in coordination with the Merchandising Manager.
Schedule and coordinate timing of all grand opening product specials.
Analyze and evaluate grand opening ad performance for new stores.
Prepare and facilitate the new store inventory reports on a daily basis, including post opening reporting
Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
3+ years of prior merchandise planning and/or allocations experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and internet applications.
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong working relationships with others.
Ability to adapt well to change in direction in a fast-paced work environment.
Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
