We are excited to announce that we are looking for Full-Time and Part-Time Medical Assistants at Albany Gastroenterology Consultants in Albany, NY.
About the Role:
The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. This position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our medical team, which directly impacts patient outcomes and satisfaction. The Medical Assistant will assist in various clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, performing venipuncture, and managing electronic health records. By effectively communicating with patients and healthcare professionals, the Medical Assistant helps to create a welcoming and efficient environment. Ultimately, this role is essential in facilitating patient care and enhancing the overall patient experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of a medical assistant training program.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent.
* Phlebotomy Certification
* Experience in a gastroenterology or similar healthcare setting.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
* Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Responsibilities:
* Take and record patients' vital signs accurately and efficiently.
* Assist physicians and nurses with examinations and procedures.
* Perform venipuncture and other laboratory tests as required.
* Manage electronic health records, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date and accurate.
* Handle multi-line phone systems, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient inquiries.
Skills:
The required skills of vital signs measurement, medical assisting, and phlebotomy are essential for daily patient interactions and clinical tasks. Proficiency in electronic health records ensures that patient data is managed efficiently, contributing to streamlined operations. Critical thinking skills are utilized to assess patient needs and respond appropriately in various situations. Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and fax machines aids in effective communication and coordination within the healthcare team.
