I am working with a full-service Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Company in the New York construction market that is seeking a motivated self-starter to join its construction team as they continue to expand their portfolio. Their work consists of designing, building, repairing, refurbishing, and maintenance of new and existing HVAC and Mechanical installations throughout commercial and residential properties across the tristate area.
Your new role
As the HVAC/Mechanical Estimator, you would be accountable for providing estimating technical expertise required within the scope of pre-construction services to meet design, cost, schedule and safety objectives. You will be responsible for the following:
Estimate an HVAC project with full detailed breakdown from equipment to sheet metal poundage, man hours and piping.
Assist with estimating change orders and back charges on current projects, which would include having to visit jobsites and engage with the client.
Stay familiar with the project once awarded to assure we stay within our budget or be able to assist with managing our budget.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role as a HVAC/Mechanical Estimator, you should have at least 5 years' experience in the industry delivering conceptual and/or hard dollar estimates for a range of projects. You will be able to build on existing sub-contractor relationships and, ideally, have an engineering, architecture or construction management degree.
Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, engineering or equal;
Minimum 5+ years direct experience in a Mechanical Sub Contractor or GC/CM firm specializing in Mechanical or HVAC.
